Philadelphia native Alfred Ortega is known for his use of bold colors to elicit primal energy. Ortega’s work fluctuates from oil on large canvas to explorative figure drawings and monoprints that test the boundaries of form. Among these mediums Ortega expands further as a sculptor working with soapstone, ceramics, marble and wood to create distinctive figures.
