Meet the Artist

Artist Statement:
For over 40 years, my career as a photographer has been dedicated to capturing the grace and beauty of professional dancers and musicians. This journey, marked by an unwavering passion for the arts, has always been intertwined with a dream: to use my imagery to express a deeply personal aesthetic.

Retiring in 2005 afforded me the time to explore this dream more fully. Through dedicated art classes, immersive workshops, and enriching retreats, I embarked on a path of self-discovery and artistic growth. It was through a mixed-media approach that my distinctive style began to emerge.

Each image is a testament to the moments of pure expression and the nuanced beauty found in the performance. Through these alternative processes of creating each piece, I strive to evoke a sense of wonder, inviting viewers to see beyond the surface and experience the profound connection between the performer and their art. This process is the culmination of a lifelong dream and defines this chapter in my creative exploration.

Bio:
I have had the privilege of capturing the performances of some of the greatest names in music and dance, including Miles Davis, Dizzy Gillespie, Gato Barbieri, Taj Mahal, Keb Mo, Eddie Palmieri, and renowned dance companies as The Paul Taylor Dance Company, The Limon Dance Company, Elliot Feld’s Ballet Tech, and the New Jersey Ballet. My dance photographs have been featured in prestigious publications like The New York Times, Dance Magazine, and Prima Ballerina Eleanor D’Antuono’s biography “Always The Ballerina”.

My mixed media work was first showcased in 2011 with the sponsorship of the New Brunswick NJ Community Arts Council, with another solo show at Callaway Henderson Sotheby’s Realty Gallery in Lambertville NJ in 2018. I have exhibited at other various galleries including The Hamilton Street Gallery, Artworks Trenton NJ, Bucks County Community College, Artsbridge Stockton NJ, and the New Hope Arts Center. My art has been received with great acclaim and has been part of group shows from 2016 to present.
