“It seemingly came out of nowhere, this desire to create and to take the modest Jersey shore shell and form something beautiful with it. The passion came on fast and strong with countless hours scouring beaches for shells and driftwood and later cleaning, sorting, gluing and arranging them. The end result surprised even me. It’s a far cry from my job in law enforcement and such a welcome escape from the challenges that come with it. Since I’m always at the mercy of what the ocean gives up, it motivates me to get more creative with what I do find, and generate new designs and applications. However, I prefer a straightforward aesthetic with an easily recognizable silhouette – one that will remain classic and clean. I hope that each piece evokes happy memories of clean air, beautiful skies and the endless power of the ocean.”
