Alexandra von der Gablentz was born and raised in Germany. Her early years were steeped in European art history, from ancient Egyptian, Roman, and Greek architecture and art to medieval ecclesiastical art to art of the modern era. Visits to ancient and modern cities, churches, and museums left an indelible mark and desire to express herself through visual art.
This journey toward fulfilling self-expression continued through studies at Harvard, UPenn, and motherhood. From children’s toys to work in many different media, Alexandra came to love and explore painting on canvas, first with acrylics, and then in oil.
Bucks County and the surrounding areas offer impressions, views, and powerful influences which continue to inspire Alexandra to mold and evolve her art with passion and care.
